LKS F1 06 Official Engineering and Design Report

EN 81-20 & EN 81-50

The LKS F1 06 Series One-Way Progressive Safety Gear has been developed to safely stop the cab and counterweight in elevators. It can be used up to a maximum capacity of P+Q 3,300 kg total load and a rated speed of 2.5 m/s. The hot forged body used in the products is engineered to provide high mechanical strength compared to standard steel constructions. Thanks to the hot forging production method, the load-bearing capacity and impact resistance of the body are increased. The gripping and stopping surfaces of the safety gear have undergone special heat treatment. In order to ensure smooth and low-friction movement of the mechanism, steel shafts are utilized within the system. In addition, the return spring features an adjustable spring stiffness design to accommodate different floor heights and operating conditions. Each product is manufactured to be traceable with a serial number for production and quality tracking. Thanks to the 4.5 mm stopping clearance and 2.5 mm gripping surface, precise and easy installation and field adjustments are achieved. In the final stage, the safety gear is specifically adjusted according to the total mass P+Q and the rated elevator speed. Product settings are determined in 200 kg load increments, tailored to cabin weight and operating conditions.

Precise Mounting Gap and Ease of Field

LKS F1 06 features optimized mounting tolerances so that technicians can perform millimeter-accurate brake adjustments in minutes on installation and modernization sites.

4.5 mm
Stop Gap

Tolerance of free movement between the brake block and the guide rail. Reduces friction and rail wear to zero in normal course.

2.5 mm
Grip Surface

The locking distance of the lugs to the rail at the time of triggering. It distributes the gradual braking force evenly without creating sudden jolts.

Laser Marking & Single Series No

Each body and spring group is coded with individual batch number; production and quality certificate are digitally archived.

LKS F1 06 Safety Gear Frequently Asked Questions

Curious technical details about elevator step braking systems, standards, mounting tolerances and calibration.

The LKS F1-06 series is designed for applications with a maximum total mass (P+Q) of 3,300 kg and a rated speed of up to 2.5 m/s, certified under EN 81-20 and EN 81-50.
The hot forging production method homogenizes the internal molecular flow of steel, increasing the impact strength and load-bearing capacity to a much higher level compared to standard welded or cast structures.
In accordance with TS EN 81-20, gradual braking is mandatory in all elevators above 0.63 m/s. The staggered safety device creates controlled friction on the rail, stopping the cabin at an acceleration appropriate to human health; it does not create dangerous shock shocks such as sudden braking.
The stop gap of 4.5 mm and the grip surface tolerance of 2.5 mm give technicians a wide margin of adjustment during assembly, allowing for error-free installation against rail deviations.
The product is specially calibrated in our factory, taking into account the P+Q total mass of your project and the rated speed of 200 kg. In this way, optimal stopping distance and braking force are achieved for each lift.
In oil rails (OIL), the model with special helical oil drain channels and heat-treated clutch shoes is applied to prevent the friction coefficient from falling. On dry rails (DRY), on the other hand, standard high-friction blocks come into play.
